Job description: A Janitor/Maintenance job involves keeping buildings clean and functional by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing floors and restrooms; disposing of trash; replenishing supplies; and performing minor repairs, such as fixing leaky fixtures or replacing light bulbs. The role also includes performing routine and deep cleaning, maintaining equipment, reporting significant maintenance needs, and ensuring facilities are secure after hours. Key Responsibilities: Cleaning and Sanitation:Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, dust surfaces, and thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to prevent the spread of germs. Waste Management:Collect and dispose of trash and recycling in designated bins and follow proper procedures for waste removal. Restocking:Replenish supplies like soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in bathrooms and other supply closets. Minor Repairs and Maintenance:Handle basic maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, or clearing clogged drains. Reporting Issues:Notify supervisors of any major maintenance or cleanliness concerns that require professional attention. Security:Ensure that buildings and grounds are locked and secured at the appropriate times after closing. Qualifications: At least a high school graduate In good health condition Basic skills in plumbing and household repairs Good communication skills Knowledge of safety guidelines when working with chemical cleaners Excellent time-management skills
