Development Officer/2 years in Research & Product Design Job Position: Research and Development Officer Job Description Conduct market research and feasibility studies to identify trends, technologies, and customer needs in the appliances sector. Design and develop new appliance products, ensuring functionality, efficiency, durability, and safety. Improve and innovate existing appliance models for better performance, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Create and test prototypes, documenting results and recommending improvements. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams in developing technical specifications and production processes. Ensure compliance with safety standards, energy regulations, and industry certifications for appliances. Monitor competitor products and emerging technologies to maintain industry competitiveness. Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for new designs and product launches. Provide technical support to production and after-sales teams on product-related issues. Participate in continuous improvement projects for manufacturing efficiency and product reliability. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Design, Business Administration, or a related field. At least 2–3 years of experience in R&D, product design, or appliance development. Strong background in mechanical/electrical systems, appliance design, and manufacturing processes. Knowledge of appliance safety standards, energy efficiency guidelines, and certification requirements (e.g., DOE, IEC, ISO). Skilled in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and simulation tools for design and testing. Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to conduct product testing, analyze performance data, and recommend design improvements. Strong communication and teamwork skills for coordination with cross-functional departments. Project management skills and ability to handle multiple development projects. Creativity and innovation mindset in developing practical, user-friendly, and marketable appliance designs.
