Overview

CDCC Estimating Engineer role in Mandaluyong, National Capital Region, Philippines. The Estimating Engineer is responsible for preparation of estimates (take-offs and unit costs), evaluation of tender documents, review of plans, evaluation of quotations and coordination with estimating team, operations and procurement.

Responsibilities
  • To prepare competitive estimates and costing for Civil, Structural, Masonry and some Architectural trades for all types of structures.
  • Prepare quantity take-off.
  • Determine procurement strategy and methodology.
  • Derive material and labor unit costs.
  • Prepare tender qualification.
  • Collate estimates from other estimators.
  • Prepare other necessary bid documents.
  • Prepare indicative design and estimates using parametric/elemental costs for design and build projects.
  • Review plans and specifications; prepare prerequisites before estimates; prepare tender queries.
  • Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid conference; check and review bid documents.
  • Assist in sourcing suppliers and coordinate with Cost Specialist/Canvasser; solicit proposals and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with CDCC stakeholders during evaluation and turnover of estimates; evaluate and assess change orders.
  • Coordinate with operations on cost basis; turnover proposals and estimates to operations; reconcile with site engineer regarding take-off and price.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Professional certifications or licenses (e.g., PRC License).
  • At least 1 year experience in Quantity Surveying or Estimating.
  • Knowledge of construction material estimates, costing and take-offs.
  • Proficiency in QS or Estimating software (PlanSwift, CAD, Sketch-Up), MS 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; good decision-making.
  • Analytical mindset, time management, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for cost assessment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; strong teamwork and collaboration.
