Overview

Senior Site Reliability Engineer role at Penbrothers. Penbrothers is an HR & remote talent management partner and one of the fastest-growing companies in the Philippines. This role supports reliability for Salesforce and web/mobile application environments, collaborating with engineers to apply world-class practices.

Responsibilities
  • Service reliability and observability: analyze resource utilization and forecast capacity; write code and scripts to automate operational tasks, configuration management, and deployment processes; manage changes to production systems with minimal disruption; identify and address performance bottlenecks; maintain thorough documentation of systems, configurations, and incident response procedures; define and maintain service level objectives (SLOs) and key performance indicators (SLIs); design and implement monitoring systems and alerting for SLO compliance.
  • Incident management & disaster recovery planning: respond to incidents, follow incident management processes, conduct post-incident reviews; plan and execute disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure data and service availability.
  • Security: ensure secure configurations by default; manage secrets and access controls; monitor security events and support incident response; maintain secure CI/CD pipelines and safe deployment practices; continuously evaluate reliability, efficiency, cost optimization, and automation; evaluate and integrate third-party tooling; troubleshoot platform issues with development teams; provide tooling support and access management; stay current with new tools and frameworks.
Job requirements What You Bring
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or relevant experience
  • 7+ years in software engineering roles with extensive SRE/DevOps experience
  • Experience with Salesforce environment
  • Expertise in monitoring and alerting solutions (CloudWatch, Sentry, SonarCloud, Jira Service Management)
  • Experience with incident response and production troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, TypeScript)
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Strong automation skills
  • Understanding of reliability engineering principles and fault-tolerant design
  • Experience designing scalable, high-performance systems and optimizing for load balancing and caching
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Awareness of security best practices and ability to contribute to security aspects
