Job Summary As a Junior Electrical Estimator, you will support the preparation of accurate cost estimates for construction projects, primarily focusing on governmental facilities such as schools and public safety complexes. You will work under senior estimators, analyzing plans, performing quantity take‑offs, gathering cost data, and assisting in Opinion of Probable Cost (OPC) development. Key Responsibilities Review construction plans, specifications, and project documents to understand scope and materials. Prepare plans for initial review, validate, and create RFIs; collate plans in a collaborative environment. Support detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and indirect costs using tools like CSI Masterformat. Collect and analyze cost data from vendors, subcontractors, and historical projects to ensure accuracy. Assist in developing OPCs by performing quantity take‑offs and applying unit costs. Conduct market research on material pricing, labor rates, and regional construction trends. Identify cost‑saving opportunities through value engineering under guidance. Prepare clear estimate reports for client presentations, documenting assumptions and contingencies. Collaborate with project teams and attend meetings to clarify scope and addressing estimating queries. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all estimating activities in compliance with company standards. Support change‑order evaluations and other estimating tasks as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience). 1‑2 years of experience in construction cost estimating or related role; internships or coursework preferred. Basic understanding of U.S. construction methods, materials, and processes. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., On‑Screen Take‑off, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Excel & Word. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Capability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders. Eagerness to learn and grow under mentorship. Knowledge of CSI Masterformat is required. Preferred Certifications ASPE Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or willingness to pursue certification. Benefits Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
