About The RoleThe Merchandise Allocator supports the Senior Planner by ensuring accurate, timely product allocations to retail stores and identifying sales opportunities through data analysis. This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role requiring strong Excel skills and a proactive approach to stock management.
Responsibilities- Stock Allocation: Allocate inventory to stores based on agreed schedules (e.g., state-by-state allocation by day).
- Stock Allocation: Adjust allocations in response to sales trends, events, and environmental factors (e.g., weather-driven demand spikes).
- Stock Allocation: Monitor sales performance at store level and highlight replenishment opportunities.
- Stock Allocation: Support planners with actionable insights to optimise stock turns.
- Retail Support: Ensure promotional stock is allocated and monitored to maximise sell-through.
- Retail Support: Liaise with warehouse teams to expedite urgent orders when required.
- Data Management: Maintain accuracy of allocation data within planning tools.
- Data Management: Produce regular allocation and sales performance reports.
Must-Have
- 2–4 years of experience in allocations, replenishment, or retail analytics.
- Prior experience in multi-store or multi-channel retail operations.
- Excel Proficiency: Comfortable with intermediate formulas (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, MROUND, CEILING, CONCATENATE).
- Stock Limit Management: Proficient in setting and monitoring stock thresholds.
- Retail Math: Strong command of key metrics such as sell-through, weeks of supply, and margin analysis.
- Knowledge of allocation principles and push-based inventory management.
- Analytical Ability: Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
- Promotion Support: Proficient in planning for promotional events and launches.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

- ERP Systems: Proficient with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent) for inventory management.
