The Role Software Engineer designs and configures solutions based on customer specific requirements and agreed specifications, performs testing of the configured solution, prepares technical documentation, and installs until completion of the customer agreed solution. The engineer also supports the Solution Consultant and the Project Delivery Team in reviewing the technical specifications, estimating effort, and liaising with customers and OEM partners whenever required. What you will do: Review the final Solution Proposal and convert it into a Detailed Technical Design Specification that contains complete software functionalities, project deliverables and acceptance criteria. Execute the solution engineering process and its activities, ensuring that development and solution configuration are aligned with the agreed project plans, budget and customer expectations. Use the Standard Solution Template as the base for solution configuration and configure it according to the approved Detailed Technical Design Specification. Perform in‑house testing of the configured solution and raise out‑of‑scope requests to the immediate manager for approval. Deliver the solution, perform SAT, provide trainings, and support Go Live. Support and resolve issues encountered during installation, FAT and SAT. Hand over the project to the Global Helpdesk team. What you need to have: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. At least 3 years of experience in software development lifecycle and project delivery methodology, including competencies in configuration of PC‑based software solutions, testing, installation, and validation against project deliverables. Experience with .NET programming languages, especially VB.NET. Proven experience with relational databases (MS SQL) and SQL Reporting Services. Prior documentation skills (mandatory). Direct customer‑facing experience and a professional approach to enhance customer satisfaction. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication skills and ability to interact with diverse, cross‑cultural stakeholders. Basic understanding of IT/networks and aptitude for quickly learning new software tools and hardware. Ability to work in a multi‑tasked environment. Knowledgeable in manufacturing and supply chain automation is a plus. Other requirements: The position involves approximately 10% – 25% travel, on average, and includes domestic and international travel to customer sites, possibly involving air travel.
