Function of the Department & Main Purpose of the Job

The Network Operation Associate shall support the Management in matters pertaining to network and security infrastructure operations. Ensures that the company’s data, voice and video networks runs according to standard corporate policies, processes and guidelines. Responsible for the monitoring, security, and performance of the local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), Firewall and organization-specific networks at all Bastion operated and supported sites. Coordinating with other teams, the Network Operation Associate shall be a resource for networking related concerns. Keep abreast with new trends and technologies and suggest and help chart the best practices and improvements for the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities

• Assist management in oversight and leadership of the network administration department

• Suggest and strengthen policies and procedures related to network reliability, performance, security, operations, and other related components.

• Consolidate and prepare regular reports, analysis and recommendations of strengths, weaknesses, and improvements in direct relation to areas managed by the department.

• Help the company achieve certifications such as PCIDSS, ISO, or other similar standards through performance of all required tasks and adherence to corporate standards.

• Manage, mentor and motivate team members to enhance individual performance and develop team capabilities.

• Define day to day tasks, work orders, and communicate these roles to other junior department members.

Operational Responsibilities

• Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all network systems. o Assist in the planning and implementation of projects for network improvements

• Lead the enforcement of the cybersecurity standards of the company through implementation and management of network controls such as firewalls, VLANs and the like. o Helps in the monitoring, operations, maintenance and upkeep of wired and wireless networks composed of routers, switches, firewalls, WLC, access points, proxy servers, load balancers and others.

• Manage and work with the Network Team Lead in administering different network services such as IPAM, DHCP, DNS, Proxy, Content Filtering

• Proactive monitoring and analysis of network infrastructure - bandwidth utilization, device performance and availability

• Provide advanced technical support and leadership for all network related issues users or other departments may encounter, and ensure reliability and uptime of LAN, WAN, WLAN infrastructure.

• Provide immediate and timely support to in responding to cyber security alerts and events. Block traffic using firewall rules, access-list in routers and switches

• Provide top-level technical advice and be the go-to resource in network administration topics such as performance, cybersecurity, network applications and other related systems.

• Maintain, build and propose scripts and automation to replace manual configuration in network devices

• Operate and maintain all office and data center network devices (Cisco, HP, pfSense)

• Participate as part of the Cybersecurity response team to top level, or major incidents and cases.

• Work along with other technical departments to maintain, operate, and upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced performance, functionality and/or resolution of issues

• Initiate review and updating of network operations documentation, procedures and policies

Qualifications:

• Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's/College Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.

• Must have at least 5 years of experience professionally leading teams and projects.

• Preferably Assistant Manager/Manager specialized in IT/Computer Network/System/Database Admin or equivalent.

• Willing to work in Salcedo, Makati

Competencies Required

• Must have advanced knowledge of networking and distributed computing environment concepts, as well as a sound understanding of the principles of routing, firewalls, and client/server applications Must have experience with troubleshooting and issue resolution principles, methodologies and techniques.

• Must have a strong desire to learn and apply new network technologies beneficial to the company.

• Provide excellent customer service with strong oral and written communication skills

• While this position works primarily on Philippines day and mid shifts, the team provides 24-hour support for the company. Candidates will be on-call and need to be willing to work on-night shift, weekend, and holiday if need arises.

• Knowledge and experience in operating under ISO 27001, PCI or other certified environment is a preferred.

• Up-to-date related certification in the field is a must (CCNP, etc) is an advantage .

• Must have secondary demonstrated skills in cyber security.

• Ongoing professional certifications other than Cisco are welcome and will be given consideration..

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Self-motivated, able to work independently with little or no supervision.

• This is an on-call role (for emergency situations)

• Ability to thrive in high pressure situations and multi-task efficiently.
