Overview

Location: Philippines

We are establishing a new Philippines-based Software Engineering Team , and we are seeking a Software Engineer – Assistant Manager to help build and lead this team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in setting up the local engineering function, collaborating with global teams, and driving innovation through AI-related initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Philippines Software Engineering team from the ground up.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop engineers to ensure high performance and technical excellence.
  • Drive successful project delivery, ensuring alignment with global development goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Development Manager in China to align strategies and share best practices.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of new engineering team members in the Philippines.
  • Champion AI-related processes and initiatives within the team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing software engineering teams , preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Strong technical background in software engineering with proven experience in project delivery.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross-border/global teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance technical depth and team management.
