As a Legal Administrator, you will be involved in all aspects of family law administrative support, ensuring accurate documentation, effective case coordination, and smooth day-to-day operations. This role offers the opportunity to build strong knowledge and hands-on experience within the family law framework while supporting the lawyer and clients through sensitive and complex matters.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, draft, and format family law documents, including affidavits, consent orders, parenting plans, and property settlement agreements
Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines
Manage document filing with courts and liaise with court registries and external legal professionals
Coordinate hearings, appointments, and key dates, including calendar and diary management
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates, requesting documents, and handling enquiries with professionalism and empathy
Assist with case preparation by organising evidence, disclosed financial documents, and drafting summaries
Conduct basic legal research and provide administrative support to lawyers
Manage and maintain confidential records, correspondence, and legal documentation
Liaise with external stakeholders including barristers, experts, and opposing parties
Provide general administrative and operational support to the legal team as required
Eligibility Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification or legal administration experience (preferred)
Previous experience in a legal administration role, ideally within family law
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
Proactive, collaborative team player with the ability to work autonomously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn and develop within a family law practice
