The Photoshop Retoucher is responsible for retouching and preparing large volumes of editorial and e-commerce images to a professional standard for a major retail account. The role involves colour correction, clean-up, compositing, and file preparation for print and digital delivery. Accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to manage seasonal workload peaks and collaborate with overseas clients.

Key Responsibilities
• Retouch, enhance, and prepare images for both editorial/lifestyle and e-commerce outputs.
• Ensure colour accuracy, tone balance, and consistency across large image sets.
• Apply masking, clean-up, contouring, and compositing as required.
• Manage varying workloads, averaging 7,900 images per year — approximately:
o Editorial/Lifestyle: 5,300 images per year
o E-commerce/Contoured: 2,600 images per year
• Adapt to seasonal increases in volume (approximately double from July to September).
• Follow brand and client guidelines to maintain consistent visual quality.
• Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and production leads.
• Organize files systematically and maintain clear version control.
• Deliver assets on time and to specification.

Essential Skills
• Strong English language skills (written and verbal).
• Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop; confident with masking, colour correction, and high-volume image retouching.
• Understanding of colour management for print and digital outputs (RGB, CMYK, spot colours).
• Proven experience retouching retail, e-commerce, or product imagery.
• Experience using the Microsoft suite – Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
• Positive attitude – we’re looking for “I haven’t done that before but happy to have a go and work it out.”
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
• Strong eye for detail and consistency across high volumes of images.

Desirable Skills
• Experience working with retouching teams for retail or e-commerce brands.
• Familiarity with packaging, catalogue, or product photography retouching.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, or Lightroom.
• Experience with file naming conventions and asset management systems.
• A good eye for composition, lighting, and realism in imagery.

• Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both spoken and written, as the client is based overseas.
• Confident communicator with strong client service skills.
• Organized, methodical, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proactive, approachable, and collaborative.
• Keen to develop technical and creative skills in a fast-paced production environment.
