DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervision of Patient CareChecks the Head Nurse’s plans for patient care and sees to it that they are properly executed. Keeps herself informed of patient’s needs and problemsReinforces health instructions given to patients and their families as need arises. Verifies implementation or request of referrals to evaluate continuity of care. Serves as consultant and adviser to the Head Nurse in developing, devising and adopting work techniques and methods for the solution of problems related to patient care. Personnel Management Interprets standard operating and new procedures and policies, reviews work performance of personnel to determine if it conforms to recognized standards. Plans the programs and work of all the nursing personnel of the units.Directs arrangement of schedule of work hours, off-duties, vacation leaves, etc. of all nursing person not assigned in the unit. Evaluates work accomplished by each nursing employee in the wardPrepares the plans for counseling of co-workers; this Renders harmonious relationships and self-discipline among nursing personnel under her supervision
