Job Summary

The Senior Business Analyst (BA) handles requirements analysis, definition and documentation as well as UAT, ORT and implementation support of complex to very complex business-as-usual (BAU) and strategic projects affecting multiple computerized systems. He coordinates with multiple units of the bank to analyze and define the detailed system requirements of the project.

For strategic projects involving third party vendors, the Senior BA works with the project team to help in the definition of the business requirements in the statement of work (SOW) preparation.

He acts as the Lead BA in scheduling, planning and supporting UAT / ORT of complex to very complex projects including the implementation of such.

The Senior BA also peer-reviews the output of his fellow business analysts.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Requirements Definition and Functional Specifications
  1. Works with clients and Account Managers to understand the objective of the request and the project scope.
  2. Defines in coordination with client and business system policy developers the detailed system requirements of the project.
  3. Collaborates with developers to confirm feasibility of the application changes and explore other enhancement options that will best address the business need and objectives.
  4. Presents for business client approval the proposed solution(s).
  5. Documents or reviews the system requirements of the project and IT requests and the final functional specifications for client signoff and approval.
  6. Helps the business unit in the definition of the business requirements for projects involving vendors.

  • User Acceptance Testing, Operational Readiness Testing, and Pre-implementation Support
  1. Acts as Lead BA for UAT / ORT support of complex projects.
  2. Plans and schedules UAT / ORT with users.
  3. Performs pre-UAT / ORT activities.
  4. Monitors performance of the UAT / ORT and provides assistance where necessary.
  5. Prepares UAT / ORT status report.
  6. Performs initial evaluation of all issues and errors raised by users and escalates all valid issues / errors with developers and project manager.
  7. Coordinates with project manager for any issues that will delay the UAT / ORT schedule.

  • Implementation Support
  1. Prepares pre-implementation status report.
  2. Tracks that all pre-implementation activities at the side of the users are completed prior to implementation.
  3. Informs all concerned that the project has been implemented.
  4. Supports users in the use of the enhancement and new systems upon implementation.
  5. Conducts features and functions walk-thru of new system / new release to ITG support units as necessary.

  • Training
  1. Acts as mentor to other Business Analysts.
  2. Acts as subject matter expert on the features and functions of applications assigned to him.
  3. Helps the Section Head in reviewing the requirements documentation of other Business Analysts.

  • Consulting: Assists business users on the features and functionalities of application systems

  • Performs other related functions that may be assigned from time to time.
