Position: HVAC Ductwork Estimator
Working Hours: 7 am to 4 pm MF EST
Salary Range:USD per month
Reports To: Project Manager/Estimating Manager

Company Overview:

Client is a fabrication shop manufacturing straight duct and transitions to both residential and commercial HVAC contractors. We have a full line of power equipment and an experienced production line crew with over 20 years of combined experience.

Position Summary:

The HVAC Ductwork Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for HVAC ductwork projects. This role involves analyzing blueprints specifications proposals and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for HVAC ductwork projects through markup and take off using software.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review Project Documents: Analyze blueprints specifications and other documentation to prepare detailed ductwork cost estimates.

  • Cost Estimation: Calculate the costs of materials and labor and create a project estimate.

  • Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit bid proposals in accordance with company guidelines and client requirements.

  • Material Takeoffs: Perform detailed material takeoffs for ductwork components including fittings ducts insulation and supports.

  • Vendor Coordination: Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors ensuring competitive and accurate quotes.

  • Documentation: Maintain organized records of all estimates proposals and related documents.

  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements provide updates and address any concerns or questions if necessary

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Construction Management Architectural or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC estimating specifically in ductwork.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Quick Bid Trimble FastDUCT Practicam VU360) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems ductwork fabrication installation processes and relevant codes and standards.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • ProblemSolving: Ability to develop creative and costeffective solutions to meet client needs and project constraints.
