We are looking for a Security Operations Engineer to join our Manila Platform Operations and Support team. As a key member of our team, you will lead a small team of sys ops admins and take the overall accountability for the Cloud Hosting and Security Strategies across the English Platforms aligning with Core Security policies and procedures and working closely with internal English Technology teams and our Vendors to analyze, agree and implement the appropriate cloud based hosting solutions and security best practices.

What makes you the ideal candidate in this role

As the Security Operations Lead, you will be the key liaison and 'point person' with the Central Technology teams to align and inform the English Technology Cloud Hosting and Security Strategy, and Implementation and Security Incident resolution. The role will involve line management of a small team of sys ops admins, providing guidance support, and training to enable them to perform their roles effectively and in line with CUPA's organisational values and leadership competencies, to achieve objectives.

In the role you will also help develop a clear and consistent approach to Cloud Hosting and Security that is shared with and implemented for English Technology Platforms and Solutions along with helping to develop, implement and maintain cost effective Cloud Hosting solutions that leverage CUPA's overall cost efficiency to the benefit of English Technology.

The following will help you be an ideal candidate for this post:

  • A minimum of 5 years' work experience in Information/Operation Security roles with at least 5 years' experience of hands-on exposure to AWS and a good understanding of AWS organizations
  • Experience and knowledge of managing complex and secure AWS environments with detailed knowledge of AWS best practices and Amazon services
  • Have a solid technical experience and knowledge on a number of Cyber Security Technologies, including Firewalls, IDS/IPS, DLP, End Point Security, Data Encryption, Network Access Control, Web/Email filtering, Penetration Testing, Forensic Investigation and Security Incident and Event Management
  • Demonstrate sufficient understanding of Security standards and frameworks, such as NIST, CIS, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST SP 800-53, FAIR
  • Familiarity with ISO 20001 and 27001 standards
