The Accounting Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, preparing financial reports, ensuring tax compliance, and providing tax-related advice to optimise the company's overall fiscal standing.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares check disbursement (vouchers/requests for online payments to various suppliers FAO NSSPI.
  • Prepares company Trial Balance, Financial Statements, schedules of operating expenses, (extracted from QB) lapsing schedule of PPE.
  • Facilitates timely payment of mandatory contributions (SSSS, Philhealth, HDMF) of admin employees.
  • Arrange timely payments of admin employees' SSS/HDMF loans.
  • Monitors and facilitates timely payment of company payables such as office rentals, utilities and other dues and ensures timely payment.
  • Timely filing and payment of BIR dues such as withholding compensation, expanded withholding tax, fringe benefits, quarterly VAT, quarterly/annual corporate income taxes and all other applicable taxes.
  • Prepares electronic Annual Alpha listing of employee compensation and withholding taxes/fringe benefits. Prepares BIR form 2307 for suppliers and quarterly/annual reports of payees(suppliers) whose taxes were withheld (expanded withholding tax).
  • Assists Assistant Finance Manager in the preparation of working papers for BIR audits (if any).
  • Provides monthly reports to external auditors including required schedules such as Bank Reconciliations, and general ledger.
  • Assists in the preparation of the internal budget.
  • Handles and replenishes NCSPI's petty cash fund
  • Prepares bank reconciliation of NSSPI's accounts.
  • Prepares monthly lapsing schedule.
  • Monitors NSSPI's loan amortization.
  • Assists in the documentation for VAT refund claims.
  • Assists during annual financial statements audit.
  • Such other functions and duties as may be objectively assigned to their capacity.


Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in bookkeeping processes, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling accounts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with Philippine tax regulations, compliance requirements, and ability to ensure adherence to relevant financial laws and regulations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey financial information to various stakeholders within and outside the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of preparing and analyzing budgets.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
