Actuarial Assistant

Arch Insurance Group is seeking a motivated aspiring actuary to join our team. Our group supports product development and rating filing across all admitted insurance products such as Workers Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Professional Liability, Property, Travel, Accident, Lenders and Surety, etc.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a new actuarial candidate looking for intellectual and professional challenges, learning actuarial skills and understanding various products in Property & Casualty insurance.

Â

• Collaborate with other pricing actuaries and cross-functional business partners to rollout new programs/products and revise existing products & rate plans.
• Perform rate indication, impact analysis and competitor research to help develop rate plan.
• Maintain and enhance various tools and processes with programming applications (e.g. SQL, Snowflake, Python, VBA) to improve efficiency, scalability and speed-to-market.
• Learn and Understand Property & Casualty insurance products and actuarial concepts/techniques

• Demonstrated interest in actuarial science and insurance; no experience required.
• Technical skills: Proficient with MS Excel/Word/ PowerPoint; basic database skills; working knowledge of SQL or Python preferred.
• Communication: both oral and written communication including presentations and marketing
• Collaboration: Able to effectively collaborate with cross-functional business partners
• Efficiency: Strong productivity, organizational and priority/time management skills
• Analytical and quantitative skills: theoretical foundation, work quality, productivity, creativity, ingenuity & problem-solver
