The Application Security Tester is responsible in safeguarding software and applications against potential vulnerabilities and security threats, through meticulous Application Vulnerability Scans and comprehensive Code Reviews. Your mission encompasses providing actionable recommendations for remediation, championing secure coding principles, and fostering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle. By collaborating closely with developer teams, software vendors, and compliance experts, you will aim to minimize software-related risks and ensure the delivery of secure and resilient solutions to our stakeholders.

What Will You Do:

  • Enforce coding and testing standards, apply security testing tools including 'fuzzing static-analysis code scanning tools, and conduct code reviews.
  • Create and enforce secure code document.
  • Develop threat model based on customer interviews and requirements.
  • Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software
  • Translate security requirements into application design elements including documenting the elements of the software attack surfaces, conducting threat modeling, and defining any specific security criteria.
  • Perform penetration testing as required for new or updated applications.
  • Assess current and prospective security tools and provide feedback and recommendations that will enhance the Software Security Capability in the context of effectiveness and cost.
  • Integrate secure coding and best practices in development lifecycle.
  • Integrate security related processes (code review, security testing, application scanning, etc. ) in existing software methodology.
  • Evaluate factors such as reporting formats required, cost constraints, and need for security restrictions to determine hardware configuration.
  • Identify basic common coding flaws at a high level.
  • Identify security implications and apply methodologies within centralized and decentralized environments across the enterprise's computer systems in software development.
  • Identify security issues around steady state operation and management of software and incorporate security measures that must be taken when a product reaches its end of life.
  • Perform integrated quality assurance testing for security functionality and resiliency attack.
  • Perform risk analysis (e.g., threat, vulnerability, and probability of occurrence) whenever an application or system undergoes a major change.
  • Address security implications in the software acceptance phase including completion criteria, risk acceptance and documentation, common criteria, and methods of independent testing.

What We Look For:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field, or equivalent work- or education-related experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the security or software development field of which 2 years cover software development, application vulnerability scanning, scripting, and DecSecOps.
  • Basic Understanding of ISO 27001, ITIL, and OWASP
  • (Preferred) Certifications addressing application vulnerabilities and delivery delays, and secure software concepts, DEVSECOPS, scripting, testing, software deployment, operations, maintenance, disposal supply chain, and software acquisition.
