Drive Quality and Excellence in Renewable Energy Projects We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil Inspector to oversee and ensure the quality and structural integrity of civil works in power plant projects, specifically focusing on solar PV and battery storage systems. This role requires meticulous inspection, thorough reporting, and precise documentation throughout the construction and maintenance phases. The ideal candidate will ensure all activities comply with industry standards, codes, and project specifications, verify proper installation of foundations, structural supports, and site infrastructure, and identify and address any deviations or non-compliance issues.
Key Responsibilities
- On-Site Supervision: Oversee construction contractors' civil/structural activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements, technical specifications, and approved work schedules.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct inspections of all civil/structural works, verifying the quality of workmanship, equipment, and materials. Ensure adherence to design plans and use of approved materials.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and address any civil/structural defects, deviations, or non-compliance. Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and monitor Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and Preventive Action Reports (PARs) as part of the contractor's corrective action plan.
- Coordination and Communication: Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and neighboring power plant operators for smooth execution of civil/structural site activities. Assist the Project Manager and stakeholders in resolving disputes and arbitration.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed daily diaries, documenting progress, safety, quality, schedule, and any site issues. Provide inputs for weekly and monthly progress reports. Maintain comprehensive records of all construction activities.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure contractor adherence to the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) plan, monitor compliance, and report findings to the Project Manager.
- Project Monitoring: Supervise contractor progress, identify potential problems or delays, and suggest corrective actions. Provide recommendations on claims and variation orders, as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years as a Civil Inspector within the power plant sector, preferably with experience in solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Credentials: Registered Civil Engineer with a valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license.
- Technical Skills: Strong familiarity with industry standards, structural/civil codes, and construction-related processes. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Communication: Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Adaptability: Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
