Our global fashion and lifestyle brand client in Australia is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in month-end procedures to produce timely management accounts according to internal deadlines.
  • Performing month-end activities to a high standard and in-line with required timeframes.
  • Checking in regularly with the wider team and assisting where necessary to ensure team deadlines are met.
  • Preparing accurate invoices and sending to customers in a timely manner, following up payments when required.
  • Liaising with company accountants to prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly business statistic surveys for various countries.
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations in the required format in accordance with agreed timeframes.
  • Assisting in the reconciliation of intra-group loan accounts between trading entities.
  • Collating pre-audit information requested by auditors to be ready for the commencement of the audit.
  • Working with external auditors to provide accurate information to complete the audit in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous background in a similar role handling multi-national accounts.
  • 3-5+ years of experience as an Assistant Accountant/Accountant.
  • Degree qualified (Accounting/Commerce) preferred but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with a good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to follow direction and work as part of a large team.
  • Have an ability to relate to people of all different groups and levels of experience.
  • Possess a strong Customer Service approach.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines and work towards goals.
