Position: Analyst, Base/Battery Metals

Join us in this exciting role where you will focus on gathering information about metal market supply and demand specifically in areas such as ferrous or non-ferrous metals, battery materials, and other essential minerals. Your main task will be to analyze this data to create valuable forward-thinking research.

Our diverse clientele includes various entities within the Metals, Minerals, and Mining sector ranging from mining companies, traders, vendors, consultants, to regulators/governments, and participants in financial and commodity markets like Investment Banks, Investment Managers, Hedge Funds, and Brokers. Team and Business Overview: Our Commodity Briefing Service team offers detailed expert insights into the metals and mining industry. Leveraging extensive industry experience and data from global exploration, development, production, strategic planning, and acquisition activities, the team provides reliable, impartial research and analysis sourced directly from industry connections, global news, and other relevant information channels. Our premium products and services help clients identify and evaluate new business opportunities, track competitors and market trends, and execute strategies with greater confidence and efficiency.

Requirements: The ideal candidate should possess previous experience as an analyst focusing on ferrous or non-ferrous metals, battery materials, or critical minerals. A degree or higher education is required, along with a strong enthusiasm for learning and enhancing knowledge of commodity markets. Experience in developing supply/demand and price forecasting models will be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop supply/demand models for commodity supply chains
  • Evaluate the influence of energy transformation initiatives on future demand
  • Research, analyze, and provide insights on current events relevant to metals & mining markets
  • Regularly publish price forecasts
  • Participate in business development activities and represent the organization externally when needed, such as at conferences or client events
  • Communicate and defend your work to clients
  • Occasional business travel as required

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience as an analyst in the metals or mining sector, preferably with exposure to other commodities as well
  • Excellent English communication and writing skills
  • Understanding of environmental, social, and governance issues relevant to the mining industry
  • Degree in fields like mining finance, engineering, chemical disciplines, economics, or business
  • Proficiency in Advanced MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with VBA, and a plus with SQL and/or Python

Schedule: Mid-Shift (2 PM to 11 PM)
