Job Summary:

As a Telecommunications Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the high availability and integrity of our telecommunication equipment, telephones, PABX, and other supporting systems. You will serve as the gatekeeper to access and security of all Telecommunications systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the security and integrity of all Telecommunications systems.
  • Design, implement, monitor, and administer IP/Analog PBX and voicemail infrastructure, including on-site systems and remote access.
  • Plan and implement upgrades to Telecommunications systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness and functional advantage.
  • Support and maintain call routing, conference bridges, video bridges, and call quality control.
  • Monitor BRI/PRI/T1 capacity and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Design and implement adjunct communication systems, including video, audio, cellular, wireless, and PDA's to offices and workforce.
  • Liaise between Telecommunications and other SI groups, especially with regard to telephony and network LAN/WAN infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of proven work experience as a Network-Voice Engineer.
  • 3+ years of experience installing, operating, and maintaining Nortel and Avaya IPPBX for small to medium businesses.
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • In-depth knowledge of call routing, conference bridges, video bridges, and call quality control.
  • Knowledge of Data communications, IP and Network management, and monitoring tools.
  • Basic networking knowledge, LAN switching, and routing.
