We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Medical Coder specializing in Same Day Surgery to join our vibrant team in a BPO set-up. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of specialized coding experience in same day surgery and hold a current coding certification. This position involves accurately converting medical procedures and diagnoses related to same day surgeries into standardized codes to ensure accurate billing and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Coding: Accurately code same day surgery procedures, services, and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.Documentation Review: Conduct thorough reviews of medical records, including surgical reports and physician notes, to ensure precise coding.Compliance: Ensure all coding activities adhere to federal regulations, payer policies, and company guidelines.Data Entry: Enter and maintain accurate coding information in the medical billing system.Audits and Quality Assurance: Participate in internal and external coding audits to ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance.Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers, billing teams, and other stakeholders to clarify and resolve coding issues.Continuous Education: Stay current with coding updates, industry changes, and best practices in same day surgery coding.

Qualifications:

Certification: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent credential (e.g., CCS, CCS-P) is required.Experience: 2 to 3 years of professional medical coding experience with a focus on same day surgery.Knowledge: Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology related to same day surgery.Technical Skills: Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in coding and data entry tasks.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with medical staff and team members.Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle complex coding scenarios.Time Management: Efficient in managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced BPO environment.
