Job Summary:

We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated candidate with excellent communication skills and someone who thrives in a collaborative environment to join our growing team We are a dynamic, boutique cloud-based accounting firm located in Hawthorn East that offers a wide array of services to our highly esteemed SME clients in various industries; incorporating accounting, taxation and business advisory services.

Key Responsibilities
Preparation of Financials and Income Tax Returns of various entities including individuals, partnership, trusts, companies and SMSFsPreparation of Activity Statements (IAS/BAS)Accounts reconciliationPreparation of FBT returns, TPAR, Payroll Tax Annual ReconciliationIdentifying and assisting with tax research and advice on SME tax mattersAssistance with year-end tax planning and adviceAssistance with various cloud-based accounting software and bookkeeping queriesAssistance with single touch payroll, income statements, superannuation, workcover etc.Liaison with clients, ATO, other statutory bodies and stakeholdersAssistance with the incorporation and set up of Companies, Trusts and SMSFsAssistance with corporate compliance documentation including preparation and lodgement of all ASIC forms via BGL CASSupport for SMSF administration tasks such as rollovers and release authority.General accounting duties such as AR/AP, bookkeeping and other adhoc administrative tasks as required
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or any relevant field. CPA PreferredAt least 4+ years of experience as a Tax Accountant or similar role in Australian accounting industryStrong knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practicesDemonstrable knowledge of preparing financial statements of individuals, companies, trusts, and partnershipsExposure to Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSF) is a plusOutstanding working knowledge on GST, BAS, IAS & other compliance related functionExcellent working knowledge on MS Office especially in ExcelAdept with the accounting software Xero and Xero Practice Manager; knowledge in BGL, MYOB and Quickbooks is nice to haveStrong attention to detail, time management, and accounting administration skillsStrong analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skillExcellent written and verbal English business communication skillsAdditional Job Details:
