Accountability Statement (purpose of the position)

The Civil Design Drafter role is a hands-on application of modern design drafting practice, using CAD drafting software to deliver detailed designs for utility, industrial, and renewable energy infrastructure projects. The Civil Design Drafter will work as part of a design team with other Civil and Electrical engineering specialists.

Responsibilities

The role as Civil Structural Design Drafter for Power System Design will involve, but not be limited to, the following:

Expert knowledge CAD Design software; Preparation of detailed civil/structural designs for zone substations and transmission substations; Preparation of detailed 2D and 3D civil designs/mechanical/electrical; Execution of technical and design components of existing projects and bids under preparation in the fields of HV electrical infrastructure for utility companies, industrial customers; Reading and interpreting international standards and specifications; Performing peer reviews and quality checks of designs; Document and drawing control associated with allocated projects between the Company and Clients, Suppliers and other related third parties; Monitor and enforce quality system requirements following Company policy; Performing administrative functions as required to operate a design office; Any other duties in reasonable relation to your job that are allocated to you by Management;

Essential Skills and Qualifications

The Civil Structural Design Drafter will require the following skills and attributes:

› Expert knowledge in Civil 3D is a must; Expert knowledge and formal training in CAD Design (Auto Cad /MicroStation etc); › Civil/Structural design experience is essential; › Demonstrated ability to prioritize, plan, and deliver outcomes; › Good people and communication skills and an ability to interact with internal and external parties.
