Position Overview:
The Head of Information Systems and Technology is responsible for managing business and IT projects, overseeing the IT department, ensuring the reliability and security of IT applications and systems, and coordinating with other departments and external suppliers. This role involves strategic planning, team leadership, budget management, and fostering strong relationships across the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Contribute to setting project goals and control multiple strategic projects simultaneously.Plan, manage, and monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with goals.Report on progress to the project sponsor or board of directors.Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.Team Leadership:Prepare recommendations for the Managing Director on department structure, job descriptions, and personnel needs.Build and lead a team, including recruitment, onboarding, team development, and promotions.Develop employee knowledge and skills through training, coaching, and development plans.Organize the department's work by setting objectives, formulating tasks, and monitoring progress. Budget Management:Draft the IT budget and monitor expenditures.Anticipate and manage budget changes across projects.Application Management:Coordinate with application owners for access reviews.Monitor user lists and application costs, ensuring compliance with policies.IT Systems and Security:Monitor and ensure the reliability, security, and continuous functioning of IT applications and systems.Implement solutions to improve system reliability.Ensure compliance with group policies and local regulations.Interdepartmental Communication:Foster strong relationships between IT and other company departments.Coordinate change and user request management, planning, and communication.Map business processes to support IT system development.Support business process owners in developing business cases for projects.Supplier Management:Select suppliers/partners based on corporate procurement policy.Draft and define Requests for Proposals and contractual conditions for outsourced projects/services.Prepare and issue supply orders within the assigned delegation levels.Negotiate trade terms and agreements.Monitor cooperation with suppliers, including SLA and incident resolution. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Proven experience (10+ years) in IT management roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position.Strong technical background with expertise in network and system administration, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term IT plans.Strong project management skills, with experience in managing large-scale IT projects.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
