Superintendent, Environment

•Plan the goals, objectives, programs, and the resource requirements necessary for the effective and efficient operations of the department

•Perform human resource management and administrative functions, including coaching, mentoring, and provision of support

•Foster environmental consciousness and leadership among site-based personnel, championing best practices and offering guidance

•Update, implement, and monitor established Environmental Management System to ensure the safe and efficient operation in compliance with existing permits, licenses, and other regulatory requirements

•Lead innovation, development, and support of environment improvement strategies and initiatives to effectively manage environment risks, enable compliance to existing, revised and/or new corporate

•environmental standards and legislative regulations, and sustainability to operations

•Engage in the design of Environmental Projects site wide and monitor its implementation, obtain regulatory environmental approvals and achieve compliance with regulatory requirements and commitments with stakeholders, including baseline, construction, operational and closure conditions

•Identify environmental risks and opportunities associated with operations, ensure implementation of approved risk control measures, and report deficiencies that affect environmental aspects

•Design and verify controls for critical environmental risks to improve the sustainability of onsite and offsite operations

•Understand and ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements and anticipate requirements for permit amendments

•Manage engagements with key internal and external stakeholders and ensure concerns are addressed and commitments are acted in a timely manner

•Communicate and provide guidance and assistance to relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of the environment plan

•Ensure the correct and prompt external reporting as required under existing permits, licenses, and PASAR's Environmental Management System

•Coordinate and supervise environment monitoring and data collection, evaluate, and report compliance with standards and regulations and department performance against objectives, targets and programs

•Lead assurance of environmental legal requirements and stakeholder commitments, reporting of non-compliances, and identification of action plan to resolve non-compliance

•Lead the conduct of environmental incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions

•Manage the budget and resource requirements to ensure that these are available and effectively and efficiently used in the operations of the department

•Ensure timely performance and completion of corporate, department, regional and asset level targets, goals, objectives, programs and/or activities

•Drive safety performance through adherence to company health and safety standards and industry best practice in the area/s of responsibility

•Lead Team Leaders in implementing health and safety procedures, policies, and programs

Job Description

•Bachelor's or Master's degree in either Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or related discipline

•With Professional License (PRC), preferably an Accredited Pollution Control Officer

•At least 5 to 10 years of experience in a managerial position with related experience in pollution control, environment protection, implementation and maintenance of environmental programs, and maintaining regulatory compliance

•Knowledge on environmental regulatory requirements and related legislations, environmental monitoring/measurement, basic statistical tools, root cause analysis, risk management and pollution control

•Knowledge and ability to apply the underlying principles of Environmental Management System: ISO 14001 Standard

•Desirable: Knowledgeable in SAP, database management and MS Office Suite

•Excellent communication, interpersonal and management skills
