Mace Consult BIM team support Clients and Project Teams with developing and maintaining information requirements and standards, developing and managing of processes within a common data environment and leading the delivery of the information management function for project team.

The role is to advise, innovate, understand, develop and implement processes described within ISO19650 series. This includes how the information is produced and assured for digital delivery.


You'll be responsible for:

  • As part of the Task Team/s support the Delivery Team/s throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct interviews to assess the skills and experience of potential candidates for BIM roles.
  • Delegate tasks to others in a way that ensures they are completed effectively.
  • Develop BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
  • Developed and maintained an understanding of ISO19650 and any applicable standards for clients.
  • Ensuring security protocols have been followed for viewing and issuing of information on all projects.
  • Implement governance and assurance processes.
  • Monitor digital handover to completion.
  • Participate in industry events to stay up to date on the latest BIM developments.
  • Produce Information Requirements (OIR, AIR, PIR and EIR) as per ISO 19650.
  • Produce information standards, methods and procedures, and shared resources.
  • Reading, understanding and supporting the delivery of all Mace process and procedures guides.
  • Responsible for object library development in alignment with wider BIM Strategy.
  • Responsible for the Assurance and Checking of the Information Model.
  • Responsible for the Production of the Information Model. (Pre-RIBA Stage 3 only)
  • Review current technology solutions and research new solutions that can be used to improve the BIM process including emerging technologies.
  • Review the roles and responsibilities of each BIM job family to ensure that they are accurate and up to date.
  • Stay up to date on the latest developments of applicable classifications.
  • Support construction sequencing strategy using information models.
  • Support Mace Cost team in preparation of cost plans from information models.
  • Train the BIM team on using databases, analysing data, creating templates, conducting assurance, COBie production, and other BIM-related topics.
  • Understand and perform in line with Information Management Assignment Matrix (from Table A.1 of BS EN ISO
  • Understand the fundamentals of authoring information.
  • Understand the setup of processes and tools for CDEs.
  • Upskill the client team, Mace project managers and design team by running BIM knowledge sharing sessions.
  • Working closely with the Mace PM and Design teams on procedural elements and compliance with the Mace Way.


You'll need to have:

  • Level 6 qualifications or equivalent: degree apprenticeship, degree with honours – e.g. bachelor of the arts (BA) hons, Bachelor of Science (BSc) hons, graduate certificate, graduate diploma, level 6 award, level 6 certificate, level 6 diploma, level 6 NVQ.
  • Intermediate Understanding of ISO19650, BS1192, Common Data Environment (CDE), IFC, COBie, and Classifications.
  • An intermediate understanding of: Content management library systems, Autodesk desktop products, Validation and verification Tools, Visualisation tools, Databases.
