We are seeking a Collections Specialist to manage early-stage delinquent loans and work with customers to remedy arrears, ensuring timely repayments and minimizing overdue accounts.

**Job Summary:** Collections Specialist needed to manage early-stage delinquent loans, negotiate payment plans, and resolve customer issues in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Manage early-stage (1-35 days past due) delinquent loans, taking full ownership and responsibility.
  • Proactively engage with customers to resolve arrears and prevent loans from exceeding 30 days past due.
  • Negotiate tailored payment plans and identify solutions for customers facing financial hardship.
  • Handle field calls when direct borrower contact is unsuccessful.
  • Issue Letters of Demand where applicable and assist colleagues with cases over 35 days past due.
  • Monitor and manage daily KPIs, ensuring efficient workload management.

**Qualifications:**

  • 3-5 years of experience in Collections, preferably in mortgage collections within the bank or non-bank sector.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance framework (Privacy Act, NCCP, ASIC/ACCC Debt Collection Guidelines).
  • Basic knowledge of legal enforcement process (a plus but not essential).
  • Confident in managing tough discussions and resolving issues with customers.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a target-driven environment.
  • Experience working with panel solicitors and property presenters is an advantage.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple accounts consistently.
  • A team player with a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
  • Driven, self-motivated, and committed to exceeding targets.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
