About the Role

As an Engineer in our Data Services, Cyber Defence you'll play a key role in helping to keep the bank safe by managing & maintaining all ANZ's SIEM data gathering are captured by Splunk Enterprise Security. This role is responsible for designing, building, testing and supporting the Security Incidents & Event Management solutions and/or our underlying bank infrastructure. You will be working closely with members of a multi-disciplinary squad operating from Melbourne, Manila and Bengaluru to ensure outcomes exceed our customers' expectations.

What will your day look like?

As an Engineer, you will also be responsible the following key priorities and products/applications:

  • Continuous Improvement & Change- Understands, accepts and supports the need for change and adapts own behaviours to changing circumstances and constructively provides input to change projects.
  • Problem Solving– Comprehensive understanding of a range of problem-solving techniques.
  • Domain Knowledge- Awareness of banking and finance industry trends and threats, specifically in relation to cyber security.
  • Influence & Relationship Building- Uses an understanding of others' point of view and empathy to gain buy-in to develop existing relationships and help build new ones.
  • Technical Mastery- Demonstrate a willingness to build competency in their discipline and seeks direction as required. Building mastery in both the depth and breadth of their capability.
  • Continuous Improvement- Understands, responds and takes part in facilitating continuous improvement practices.
  • Leverage Technology and Frameworks- Adopts strategic technologies and frameworks. Assists in identifying and evaluating potential new technologies and frameworks.
  • Troubleshooting- Takes part in troubleshooting for service recovery. Provide ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management.
  • Application Level & Solution Design / Architecture- Adopts a vision and plan for application-level solution design and architecture for the platform.

  • Java, Python & Puppet Automation
  • CI/CD CodeFresh, Github & Bamboo Integrations
  • Database administration like PosgreSQL and/or other db, etc
  • Redhat & Windows Systems Administration
  • Atlassian Jira boards & Confluence pages

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Have a thirst and willingness to expand knowledge with new technologies bringing benefits into the Tribe
  • Pays attention to the detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality solutions
  • Understanding of current state landscape and relevant technologies
  • A degree in Information Security or Computer Science or Cyber Security or Information Technology.
  • Extensive years of technical experience, including strong experience in security services.
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, installing, and configuring of Cloudera Products NiFi, MiniFi AND Data Onboarding
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting Apache Kafka
  • Experience to CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, Bamboo/Jenkins, Docker/Podman, CodeFresh
  • Experience working on servers administrations such as Redhat & Windows
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Computing AWS, Azure & GCP
  • Working knowledge of Network technologies such as routing, switching, firewalls etc.
  • Working knowledge of Confluence, Jira, Service Now, etc.
