We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our client's team. This role is a detailed administrative and hands-on transaction processing and maintenance position with extended forecasting and reporting capabilities. You will support the business founder and leadership team, working closely with APAC and EMEA operations, and collaborating with a fractional CFO. The initial focus will be on improving and optimizing business as usual (BAU) finance operations, forecasting, and reporting.

  • Schedule: 9am to 6pm AEST (7am- 4pm Manila Time) with flexibility to cover European hours as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership and management of the group's finance operations.
  • Ensure accuracy and maintenance of finance systems and transactions.
  • Timely preparation of management accounts – monthly and weekly.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and operate within legal and ethical boundaries.
  • Manage and forecast cash flow in different countries and currencies.
  • Own, maintain, and support teams with the company's financial planning and forecasting.
  • Support and deliver business financial and operational reporting.
  • Translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Support process improvement and utilization of systems and technology within finance operations and the broader team.
  • HR and payroll management.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in similar or senior accounting roles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using Xero for financial management and reporting purposes, with experience in the broader Xero ecosystem.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 office and productivity tools.
  • Prepared to work across multiple time zones (mainly Australia and Europe).
  • Growth business experience.
  • International operations and foreign currency experience.
  • FMCG, stock, and assembly experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; MSc/MBA is a plus.
  • CPA or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
