Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:

The Lawyer will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance and safeguarding the interests of the company. This role will be responsible for a variety of legal tasks including but not limited to generating demand letters from clients in bad standing, drafting and reviewing employee contracts, and addressing other legal matters as they arise.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Demand Letters: Drafting and issuing demand letters to clients who are in bad standing with the company, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and timelines. Employee Contracts: Drafting, reviewing, and updating employment contracts, ensuring they are legally sound and align with company policies and regulations. Legal Compliance: Ensuring the company's operations and practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Dispute Resolution: Assisting in resolving legal disputes, including negotiations, settlements, and, if necessary, litigation. Legal Research: Conducting legal research on relevant issues and providing legal guidance to the management team. Contract Management: Managing contracts and agreements with clients, vendors, and other third parties to protect the company's interests. General Legal Support: Providing legal advice and support on various matters including intellectual property, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance. Collaboration: Working closely with other departments to address legal concerns and provide timely advice and assistance. Collection: Maintain communication and lead the team in terms of collection efforts.

Skills & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a reputable law school; admission to the Philippine Bar is required. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, preferably with experience in corporate law, contract law, or commercial litigation. Having good experience with the BIR and SEC and experience with HR legal and compliance are required. With court experience is advantageous. Knowledge: Strong understanding of Philippine laws and regulations pertaining to finance, lending, and employment; familiarity with microfinance regulations is a plus. Skills: Excellent drafting and communication skills; ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions; attention to detail and accuracy are essential. Making demand letters and making sure that it happens. Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a small, dynamic team; willingness to collaborate and support colleagues as needed. Able to work smoothly in an atmosphere that is informal and very open. Ethical Standards: Commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and integrity in all aspects of legal practice Personality: Independent thinking, understands the tasks and goes and does it, a get-goer who also speaks his/her mind to help improve the company.
