At HyLogic we are looking for Azure Engineer/MS SQL DBA to join our team in the Philippines .

We are looking for highly skilled Azure Engineer/ MS SQL DBA specialists to join our Data Integration SRE Team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of our data replication services. You will be working closely with cross-functional teams and our product team to resolve issues, implement automations, and drive continuous improvement in Data Integration Services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong service delivery attitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. We need someone to support us in the next phase in Data Integration area, managing SQL server and Azure environments.

What will you be doing:

  • Troubleshoot query performance, leverage historical queries, query store
  • Perform regular tasks like jobs management, indexes review, security logs checks
  • Monitor utilization and server health, analyse machine capacity
  • Design and setup HA (high availability) for Linux / Windows / SQL
  • Creates SQL bug fixes to scripts already existing in production
  • Participating in Change Management Reviews to provide inputs and sign-off for readiness of a solution/implementation to cut-over in the production environment

Expected candidate profile and skills:

  • Relevant experience in the Azure environment
  • Linux and Windows OS, SQL Server administration skills
  • Understand HA (High availability) setup, RBAC (role-based access control) Azure setup, NSG's (network security groups) configuration setup
  • Security and performance recommendations for SQL Server / Windows / Linux OS
  • PowerShell or bash scripting

Nice to have:

  • Azure architect role - expertise of azure security aspects, azure storage, azure monitoring aspects, azure networking design, azure authentication and authentication design
  • Terraform scripts
  • Familiarity with Azure Databricks
  • Azure data factory / ETL familiarity
  • Understanding data replication

Soft skills:

  • High service delivery attitude and ability to persuade with good communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and tough deadlines
  • Independent in executing tasks and ticket resolution
  • Knowledge sharing / conducting training (internal and external)
  • Risk management and ability to indicate system bottlenecks
  • Initiate problem management- ideally act as SME roles
