● Architect the Future: Develop and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals. This includes identifying and adopting new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and performance. You'll leverage your technical expertise to design and implement key DevOps components, particularly focusing on AWS infrastructure.
● Lead and Coach a High-Performing Team: Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing DevOps team. Provide coaching and mentorship opportunities to help team members grow their skills and expertise. Foster a collaborative DevOps culture with a focus on cost awareness, high availability, scalability, and performance.
● Process Champion: Continuously improve DevOps processes and methodologies to streamline software delivery and eliminate bottlenecks. Ensure best practices are implemented throughout the development lifecycle. ● CI/CD Pipeline Architect and Overseer: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Focus on automation and continuous improvement to ensure fast and reliable software deployments. You'll be the technical expert guiding this critical process.
● Collaboration Catalyst: Break down silos and ensure seamless communication and alignment throughout the software delivery process. Foster a culture of collaboration between development, operations, and security teams.
● Performance Monitoring and Optimization Guru: Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to identify areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to optimize performance, security, and scalability. Be the go-to person for identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
● Metrics Advocate: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the DevOps initiatives. Track and report on metrics to demonstrate the value of DevOps practices.
● Technical Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of DevOps tools and technologies (CI/CD tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization technologies). Stay up-to- date on the latest trends and innovations in the DevOps space. Lead by example with your technical knowledge.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
● 5+ years of experience in a DevOps Engineer or related leadership role, with a demonstrably successful track record of leading and managing a team. We seek an individual who embodies both technical leadership and architectural prowess. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
● In-depth knowledge of DevOps principles, methodologies, and best practices.
● Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI) and a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
● Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) a plus. ● Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and experience with configuration management tools like Git.
● Deep understanding of system administration concepts (networking, storage, security).
Leadership and Communication:
● Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
● Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
● Proven ability to mentor and coach junior engineers.
● Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving. Ability to translate business goals into a technical roadmap.
● Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a passion for continuous improvement.
AWS Expertise:
● Proven experience architecting, managing, and optimizing infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, etc.) with a focus on cost optimization while prioritizing high availability, scalability, and performance.
● Deep understanding of AWS services and their capabilities to identify the most efficient and cost-effective solutions for various DevOps needs.
● Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (AWS CloudFormation and CDK with TypeScript a plus) to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
● Familiarity with AWS security best practices and the ability to integrate them into the DevOps pipeline.
