JOB OVERVIEW

The responsibilities and duties of a radiographer encompass a diverse range of tasks, ensuring

effective and safe medical imaging procedures. From receiving and processing requests to

performing various X-ray procedures, the radiographer plays a crucial role in patient care. Attention

to detail is essential, including accurate patient information collection and medical history review.

Proper positioning, exposure settings, and assistance during imaging procedures contribute to high-

quality radiographs. The radiographer collaborates with radiologists, follows safety measures, and

adheres to hospital policies and regulations. Additional responsibilities include handling CT scans,

dental X-rays, and mobile X-ray operations, emphasizing patient safety, infection control, and

continuous professional development.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

· Receive, check and take note of the time when the request is received.

· Perform various X-ray procedures as per the doctor's request, such as chest, upper-lower

· extremities, abdomen, skull, etc.

· Uses radiation safety measures (Shield, Distance and Time) and protection devices to ensure

· the safety of patients and team members.

· Position the patient with care and set accurate exposure settings according to the examination

· requested by their physician.

· Ask the patient for their complete information before the procedure starts (full name, birthday,

· etc.).

· Take medical history before performing X-ray procedures.

· Explain the procedure, assist, transfer, and position the patient on the table for the X-ray

· exposures.

· Assist the radiologist in routine and special radiographic procedures.

· Ensure that radiologic equipment remains in working order and report equipment malfunctions

to the Chief Radiologic Technologist.

· Render/charge the procedure through the Bizbox system.

· Retrieve/file patients' records, results, and images.

· Ensure that the patient consent form is obtained and document before performing special or

invasive radiographic procedures.

· Send images to the radiologist for interpretation/reading and encode the result in the Bizbox

system.

· Schedule special radiographic procedures, coordinate with the radiologist, obtain other

diagnostic results/medical records of the patient, and prepares the needed materials.

· Perform quality control activities to ensure optimal quality radiographs.

· Follow infection control and safety guidelines.

· Cleans and disinfects workstations.

· Perform CT scans as prescribed by physicians or radiologists.

· Properly position patients and operate CT scanner for optimal imaging.

· Administer contrast materials as required, and monitor patients during procedures for adverse

reactions.

· Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of CT equipment.

· Evaluate any insufficient patient preparation, the patient's inability, or unwillingness to tolerate

the examination and associated procedures.

· Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

· Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with patients and other contacts at work.

· Coordinates with the radiologists who interpret the images.

· Perform real-time imaging using C-arm X-ray equipment during surgical procedures in the

operating theater.

· Properly position the C-arm to obtain optimal images, considering the surgical site and the

Surgeon's requirements.

· Prioritize patient safety by following radiation safety protocols and minimizing radiation

exposure to both patients and surgical team members.

· Communicate with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure comfort

during dental X-ray examinations.

· Operate dental X-ray equipment by following established protocols.

· Operate mobile X-ray equipment in various settings.

· Set up and position mobile X-ray equipment to obtain optimal images while considering patient

comfort and safety.

· Adheres to all department and hospital policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

· Performs additional duties and assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Technology.

· Board passer of the Radiologic Technologist/Licensed Radiographer.

· Fresh graduate or with one (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

· Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

· Excellent technical radiology skills and equipment knowledge.

· Excellent in handling patient care, especially with pediatrics and geriatrics patients.

· Computer literacy.

· Physically fit for prolonged standing, reaching, and bending to move patients and heavy

equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to Php25,000.00 per month
