What you do as an Senior Electrical Inspector

The senior electrical inspector role is a full-time on-site role and he will be reporting to the engineer's representative and his general tasks and responsibilities would include amongst others:

  • Reviewing contractor's documents for design and construction
  • Supervising the construction works including testing, inspection, and monitoring
  • Responding to requests for inspections and routine quality monitoring of construction or as instructed by the (Assistant) Resident Engineer
  • Take the lead in the electrical works at site
  • Reporting and data analysis to verify quality and production
  • Monitor for breaches of safe working practice, stopping work if necessary
  • Bring any non-conformances to the attention of the contractor
  • Attend weekly progress meetings with client and contractor.

Our site supervision team consists of 11 staff and is led by our resident engineer (RE) who is supported by his assistant resident engineer and our document controller. The senior inspector oversees all the inspectors which consist of a piling inspector, civil works inspectors, structural maritime inspector, and electrical inspector (maritime). From our Makati office, the project is managed by the project manager who visits the site on a regular basis for discussions with the site supervision team client and contractors.

What you bring

As a senior electrical inspector, you will supervise and work on the electrical aspects of the construction of a new container yard, substation and/or quay extension. For this position, you need to have the following competencies/skills:

  • minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • masters in Electrical Engineering is preferred
  • licensed Philippine Electrical Engineer
  • at least 10 years of experience in electrical supervision works
  • preferably experience working within an engineering consultancy firm
  • sound technical understanding of electrical engineering and substations with focus on working in and around an operational container terminal
  • experience with witnessing FAT (Factory Assistance Tests) and with power system protection settings will be added advantage
  • experience with electrical material handling equipment at container terminals as Ship-to-Shore cranes, e-RTGs, etc. is a benefit
  • strong knowledge and experience in electrical design, electrical engineering, and power distribution
  • quality and safety consciousness
  • strong in record keeping
  • analytical thinker and strong problem solver
  • excellent knowledge of the English language (written and verbal)
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • team player, versatile, and energetic
  • adept at working in a digital way
  • proficient in Microsoft suite of applications
