Principal Purposes of the Position

The principal purposes of the financial manager include developing and implementing financial plans, analyzing financial data for decision-making, managing financial risks and capital, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring cash flow management, contributing to strategic decision-making, and managing stakeholder relationships. By fulfilling these purposes, financial managers support the financial health and stability of the organization, optimize performance, and maximize shareholder value

AREA(s) of Responsibility (Main Workplace & Common Workplace Assignments)

Main Workplace: The Head Office Finance Manager will primarily work at the company's head office location – Davao.

The finance manager is responsible for financial planning and analysis, financial reporting and compliance, cash flow management, risk management, capital management, financial strategy, financial systems and processes, stakeholder management, team leadership, and financial governance.

He/She oversee and execute these responsibilities to manage the organization's finances effectively, drive performance, and support strategic decision-making.

Common Workplace Assignments: The Head Office Finance Manager may occasionally be required to collaborate with other departments or branches. These responsibilities involve overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance, providing guidance and support to a finance team, managing risks, and contributing to the organization's financial health and success.

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities*

  • a. Developing and implementing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.
  • b. Monitoring and reporting on key financial performance indicators.
  • c. Monitoring and managing cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
  • d. Developing cash flow projections and managing working capital.

e. Evaluating and implementing cash management strategies, including optimizing receivables and payables.

  • f. Assessing and managing financial risks, such as market risks, credit risks, and operational risks.
  • g. Managing the organization's investment portfolio and evaluating investment opportunities.
  • h. Assessing the cost of capital and making recommendations on funding sources.
  • i. Managing relationships with lenders and investors.
  • j. Contributing to the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • k. Overseeing the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software
  • l. Developing and enhancing financial processes and controls.
  • m. Ensuring data integrity and accuracy in financial systems.
  • n. Monitoring and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
  • o. Interacting with internal and external stakeholders, such as executives, investors, lenders, and auditors.
  • p. Providing financial information and analysis to support decision-making and address inquiries.
  • q. Managing and developing a team of finance professionals.
  • r. Setting goals, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring performance.
  • s. Establishing and enforcing financial policies and procedures.
  • t. Perform other duties as assigned.

D. Knowledge and Experience Required (Minimum Qualifications)*

. Educational Attainment

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or other related field. CPA, CMA, CFA is an advantage

b. Work Experience/ Number of Years/ Necessary Training Requirement*

Minimum 3 years of progressive finance experience

c. Skills Requirement

Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and evaluate financial performance.

The ability to think strategically and contribute to the development and execution of financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Proficiency in financial planning and budgeting processes, including the ability to develop accurate and realistic budgets, forecast financial outcomes, and monitor budget performance.

Strong understanding of financial risk management principles, including the ability to assess and mitigate various types of risks such as market risks, credit risks, and operational risks.

Effective leadership skills to lead and motivate a team of finance professionals, delegate tasks, set goals, and provide guidance. This involves strong communication, interpersonal, and managerial skills to foster a collaborative and high-performing finance team.

Proficiency in financial reporting standards and regulations, including the ability to prepare accurate and timely financial statements and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Strong technical skills in financial software and systems, including proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel) for financial analysis and modeling. Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and financial management software is also beneficial.

A good understanding of business operations, industry dynamics, and market trends to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Strong ethical standards and adherence to professional codes of conduct in managing financial operations, ensuring integrity, and promoting transparency and accountability.
