Citi Finance is responsible for the firm's financial management and related controls. We manage and partner on key Citi initiatives and deliverables, such as our quarterly earnings process and ensuring Citi's compliance with financial rules and regulations. The Data Quality Analyst 1 is a developing professional role. Requires a good knowledge of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles upon which the job is based. Understands how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own job. Responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of Data Quality processes. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to improvement and performance activities by providing measurement, evaluation, and assessment services relating to Data Quality and data production.

In this role, you're expected to:

  • Uses professional judgment, discretion, and business expertise to provide feedback on issues that have notable impact on the business.
  • Resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions using acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
  • Communicates with tact and diplomacy to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information with project stake holders or internal parties.
  • Accountable for monitoring, assessing, analysing, and/or evaluating processes and data to ensure their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Identifies and interprets trends, patterns, or inconsistencies in complex data sets, defines business issues, and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures, or practices
  • Presents information in a concise and logical way, and is sensitive to audience diversity
  • Reports Data Quality defects through the Data Concern Remediation Management process
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating managing and reporting control issues with transparency

As a successful candidate, you'd ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Collibra and other Data Governance industry standard tools
  • Intermediate proficiency in System Query Language (SQL)
  • Working knowledge of Tableau (report consumer, developer, etc.)
  • Demonstrated understanding of Database structures
  • Working knowledge of industry practice and standards
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
