About the Bureau of Internal Revenue Philippines (BIR)

The Bureau of Internal Revenue is mandated by law to assess and collect all national internal revenue taxes, fees, and charges, and to enforce all forfeitures, penalties, and fines connected addition to that, including the execution of judgments in all cases, decided in its favor by the Court of Tax Appeals and the ordinary courts.

Your responsibilities

A Teacher is responsible for preparing lesson plans and educating students at all levels. Their duties include assigning homework, grading tests, and documenting progress. Teachers must be able to instruct in a variety of subjects and reach students with engaging lesson plans.

The PTA served as a specialized learning institution for tax collectors and administrators of the government and selected applicants from the private sector. It develops and implements a curriculum that is about:

  • (a) technical aspects of tax collection, administration, and compliance
  • (b) the career orientation and development for civil servants. It conducts lectures, seminars, workshops, and other training programs designed to mold, develop, and enhance tax collectors' and administrators' skills, knowledge, moral fitness, efficiency, and capability. It also performs such other functions and duties as may be necessary for carrying out its mandate.

Continuing refresher courses seminars and workshops to promote a high standard of ethics in public service shall be conducted.

Work-life balance

Previous trainees described the BIR's workplace as productive with friendly colleagues. Most insiders believe that fresh grads can handle the workload contributing to a healthy work-life balance.

The work schedule is another factor for striking a good balance between a person's work and personal life. Government employees usually work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Company culture

The legacy of the Bureau is, in many ways, the work of successive generations of revenuers who have made the selfless decision to dedicate their talents and skills to the service of the country.
