Is responsible for the of daily task of posting cash and adjustments through ERA processing or manual posting in the various client systems. Also responsible for the reconciliation of cash posting and adjustments to batches.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Experience with reconciling Explanation of Benefits for purposes of correctly posting payments, posting contractual adjustments, and moving balances to patient responsibility.
  • Denial Identification including understanding Common Adjustment Reason Codes (CARC)
  • Medical RCM Cash Application experience and knowledge preferred.
  • Accurately post all patient payments, manual and electronic, to patient account
  • Manually post all non-ERA insurance payments, contractual allowances, rejection codes, deductibles, and copayments.
  • Review and post exceptions from ERA insurance payments.
  • Identify credit balances at time of posting and determine if a refund request is needed.
  • Responsible for reconciling daily batches before posting to ensure deposit has been received.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Understands accounts receivables posting process and the ability to read an EOB

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or medical billing in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance billing practices and regulations required.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Willing to work during US business hours
