The Software Development Centre is responsible for the development of software and application products to harness technology to improve the performance of our clients value chain. The team is made up of subject matter experts that work to the country manager to develop products that assist in the delivery of the client mandate. Working together but often independently, each developer will be expected to work, onsite and remotely, with the wider team and clients on complex engagements.

The Role
The Software Development Centre (SDC) front end developer reports to the country manager and is responsible for coding user interface applications, including visual elements and the overall layout of software solutions. As the front end developer you will be required to engage with internal and external clients to identify their needs, optimise the software for different formats and running tests to ensure code strings perform the correct functions. You will play a critical part of the development process ensuring that you combine technology and design to create inviting, easy-to-use products for our internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

The primary duties of the front end developer are:

• Lead the Front End aspects of design and development of the product and platform development, including specifying user interfaces, visualisation technologies, application look and feel.
• Writing code with programming languages such as HTML, C++ and Java.
• Work closely with product owners, infrastructure engineers, data engineers, data scientists and UI/UX consultants to create coherent, robust and sustainable outputs for client and internal projects.
• Work with stakeholders to understand the business problem, technology, digital maturityand literacy to ensure the highest levels of user engagement in our solutions.
• Contribute to project plans, designs and prototype solutions to demonstrate early benefit and value.
• Contribute to discussions and discovery workshops to understand the As-Is state and any existing digital change activity already underway.
• Work in an Agile manner, collaborating closely with clients and colleagues to iteratively refine and deliver the solution within the Discovery – Alpha – Beta – Live delivery model aligned to GDS standards.
• Engage with appropriate Agile ceremonies, ensuring necessary information (e.g. progress, releases, risks, issues) is shared with the product owner, project manager and other stakeholders.
• Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

Secondary duties of the front end developer are:

• Commit to continuous development by supporting the organisation of team events, training sessions and recruitment activities.
• Carry out other duties as specified by the Country Manager.

Skills

• Demonstrable expertise in designing and building robust user-focused applications, applying best practice techniques to ensure user engagement and accessibility.
• Strong data visualisation and analysis skills.
• Experience of working with a variety of visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik, etc).
• Experience of deploying solutions to cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills – an analytical, innovative, and creative mindset.
• Experience designing and delivering technology and digital solutions to solve business problems and create enduring value for clients.
• A growth mindset, enthused by challenge and the opportunity for continuous learning.
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Aptitude to grasp new concepts and rapidly produce results.
• Ability to be self-directed and be an independent contributor to the team.

Work Schedule:

• Monday- Friday 10am to 7pm PH time PH Time

• Hybrid at Cebu office: The Company Cebu, G/F Building 4, P. Remedios St, Banilad, Mandaue City, Cebu.
