DETAILER

The Detailer is responsible for detailing of drawings using Tekla Structures during a project life cycle pertaining to structural steel detailing. They will demonstrate knowledge of best use of the Tekla Structures Editor. This role includes collaborating closely with the checkers, modelers, and other detailing 
team members in support of meeting the project requirements and schedules.

Core Responsibilities

To perform at any time and as a minimum, the tasks laid out in the DBM Vircon Skills Matrix for this position description (predominantly 2D related items), and any future development tasksResponsible to detail Assembly drawings of low to mid complexity up to complex Assembly and Part Drawings within an agreed time frameTo report progress of all detailing tasks to the Team LeaderSelf-check to ensure work is complete and committed to quality and error-free detailing

 

MODELER

The Modeler is responsible for conducting and executing project modelling for assigned projects. They can comprehend Structural and Architectural design details and can capably translate that information into detailing models. They will demonstrate knowledge in smart and efficient modelling techniques and exhibit attention to detail in their work.  This role demands the ability to collaborate and work in close partnership with team members to deliver high-quality results, while ensuring that project requirements and schedules are met.  

Core Responsibilities

To assist, as required, the initial set-up of the project, including Tekla Structure model creation or stick modelling.To perform at any time and as a minimum, the tasks laid out in the DBM Vircon Skills Matrix for this position description (predominantly Intermediate 3D related items), and any future development tasks.To perform intermediate to complex level modelling and connecting as directed by Team Leader.Model technical elements such as Trusses, camber, brace systems, moment frames, anchor bolts.Self-check to ensure work is complete, error-free, and in conformance with the design and industry standards.Update User fields with relevant data as per job requirements.Generate Request for Information (RFI) and Connection Design Query (CDQ) communications.Perform modelling clash checks at every junction, and assembly erection checks.Prepare Design Change Request (DCRs) to suit design changes received from client in coordination with the Estimating Team.To update project documentation to meet quality, standards and control expectations and report progress of all modelling tasks to the Team Leader.To support Cadet Detailer(s) or Detailer 1 as required.
