The Program Officer will primarily be a part of Better World Tondo (BWT), a community center in partnership with San Miguel Foundation which is based in one of the poorest communities in the Philippines that aims to address the community’s prevalent learning and community development gaps through AHA’s major programs in academics, social-emotional, and support system skills interventions. 

General tasks include providing support to the Better World Tondo team in the following areas:

Learning Program Management, supporting the design and implementation of learning programs; this also includes content development for and facilitating sessions.
 Community Organizing and Management, supporting center-based officers in organizing and managing members (i.e., profiling, managing database, needs assessments) and connecting with existing and potential community-based partners.
 Center Management, supporting the center managers in operations, as needed (i.e., center’s system, space cleanliness, and maintenance)
 Volunteer Community Management, supporting as a point person for volunteer community matters.
 Reporting, alongside the general responsibilities, are monitoring, evaluations, and preparing reports for handled centers (for the team’s monthly reports, quarterly assessments, and annual reporting); 
 Support, the Program Officer may also be involved in special projects, as needed.
 

The Program Officer further takes the initiative to develop relationships with and development of its community members in the parents, students, volunteers, partners, and co-teachers; and champions the organization’s principles of being community-centric, always putting learners first and driving change through sustained systems.

The Program Officer preferably has at least one (1) year experience in community teaching and project management and has a good understanding of the education setting in the Philippines. The post is based in Tondo, Manila, and prefers Tondo-based applicants.

 

A probationary period of three (3) months takes effect upon employment. Healthcare benefits shall be granted upon successful assessment after the probationary period. Aside from regular center breaks throughout the year (i.e., extended special holiday breaks), employees who have served at least three (3) months in the company are eligible to claim the following:
