The Video Editoris responsible for producing short social media videos from footage provided by Australian editorial content staff and posting finished product to social media platforms or embedding onto Time Out’s website (CMS). This entry level role will be supported by our Senior Videographer and you will be using general templates for each social media platform to produce a final video product our readers have come to expect. Monday to Friday | 7 AM to 4 PM (Manila time)

Responsibilities:

Edit video footage provided by our Australian content team into a final video product that is then uploaded to various social media platforms such as Instagram Reels, Facebook, and to a lesser extent TikTok and You TubeEach social media product will run anywhere between 10 seconds and 1 minuteThe video supplied for each project/review will need to be repurposed and editing modified to be suitable for each respective video platform (different creative treatments relative to each social media platform)The final video product/asset for each platform should be an engaging video that meets our publication goals such as engagement, traffic, conversion, etcWhere required, the person will post, or schedule for posting, videos on social mediaEdit extended video footage for commercial projects from time to timeAssistance with Google Web Stories (GWS) videos, which is a new productWork closely with our editorial, commercial and creative studio teamsHelp maintain Time Out’s video archiveWork to ensure Time Out videos reflect house styleEnsure Time Out meets its copyright and legal obligationsWork closely with our Creative teams on new ideas and regularly provide input to improve our website UX when viewing video

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year experience producing and editing video for social media platforms with a recognised media publisher or leading organisationExperience with Canva, Adobe Suites or similar video editing software toolsSome videographer experience to help guide our editors for the type of video footage you desire (desirable but not essential) and, at a later stage, shoot video in ManilaSome expertise in creating graphics and animation would be viewed favourably
