JOB SUMMARY

A Safety Environment & Pollution Control Unit Officer is an Electrical or Chemical Engineer who is primary responsible in overseeing the implementation and maintenance of our safety program, ensuring compliance with local regulatory requirements. S/He conducts thorough safety inspections, identify hazards, and develop effective mitigation strategies. Additionally, the postion is expected to provide technical guidance on electrical and chemical safety protocols, assist in developing training programs, and investigate incidents to prevent future occurrences. The role is crucial in creating a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in promoting, enhancing, managing, and auditing the safety program.Train and educate all portions of the program, including partnering with the training team to conduct and facilitate workshops and best practice training.Validate compliance to all safety programs.Support all best practice being promoted in all locations.Monitor and maintain compliance with federal and state OSHA requirements.Aid in the developing strategies for improvement of safety programs.Provide feedback and coaching as necessary when safe procedures or behaviors are not followed.Visit and assess hospitals with high workers’ compensation and general liability claim frequency as identified by monthly claim reports and upon request from Regional Directors / Unit Management. Meet with management teams and assist in creating / reviewing corrective action plans and follow-up.Maintain and update safety programs training material and tools throughout enterprise.Ensure team members are well informed on security policies and procedures and other company policies and regulations.Enforce discipline and proper behavioral traits to subordinates, maintaining a fair, consistent, and non-prejudicial approach.Monitor and provide feedback on the performance of team members and conduct coaching/ counseling

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Engineering (Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Industrial) or equivalentAt least (1) year of relevant work experienceExperience in Fire Safety Compliance is an advantage but not requiredKnowledgeable in Basic Life Support, Basic Fire Fighting, and RescueAbility to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectivelyAble to make quick decisions with minimal informationCollaborative and like working with a teamHas strong leadership characteristics to delegate tasks, influence, motivate, and develop team members
